SVG Pony converter
SVG Pony is a Windows application to convert generic SVG image files to SVG Tiny 1.1+ format, which is the format Nokia phones use. SVG Pony has been mostly tested with Inkscape created images. All the images in screenshot above will display correctly on the phone once converted by SVG Pony. The conversion also uses Scour which packs the svg so that the result is true to its name, tiny.
SVG Pony can be used to catalog and preview SVG images. Previewing efficiently a lot of svg images is a surprisingly hard problem as few programs will display you more than one image at a time. There are a lot of good quality free svg images available, for example OpenClipart.org alone has over 12000 images for download in a single tar-ball.
SVG Pony can offer images for preview through a built in web server. If you have wifi connectivity, the phone browser can directly display the SVG Tiny images. Often there is no need to build an application for the phone an icon at a time just to see how it will look. This is possible because the Nokia phones webkit browser appears to use the same svg support as the underlying Symbian OS when rendering the application icons.
